By using PollHall you agree to these terms, the Community rules and the Privacy notice. If you do not agree, please do not use PollHall.

1. What PollHall is

  • PollHall is a free place to vote and share views on public issues. There is no money, betting, wagering, stake, prize or paid feature of any kind. PollHall is not an online money game.
  • Results are online votes from verified users. They are not a scientific survey, an official statement or a prediction by us.
  • PollHall is not linked to any political party, candidate or government body. Nothing on PollHall is legal, financial, medical or voting advice.

2. Who can take part

  • Anyone can read PollHall.
  • To vote, comment or suggest questions you must be 18 or older and log in with an email address, Google account or mobile number that is yours or that you are allowed to use.
  • One person may have only one account. Each account gets one vote per question. You may change your vote until the question closes.

3. Your account

  • Keep your password, email and phone safe. You are responsible for what is done from your account.
  • You can log out on all devices, and delete your account at any time, from your profile.

4. What you must not post or do

You must not post, share or link to anything that:

  • belongs to someone else and you have no right to share;
  • is obscene, pornographic or paedophilic, or invades another person’s privacy, including bodily privacy;
  • insults or harasses anyone on the basis of gender;
  • is defamatory, or racially or ethnically objectionable;
  • promotes hatred, enmity or violence against any religion, caste, community, region, language or group;
  • is harmful to children;
  • infringes a patent, trade mark, copyright or other right;
  • misleads people about where a message came from, or that you know is false or misleading;
  • impersonates another person, official or organisation;
  • threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with other countries, or public order; incites any offence; prevents the investigation of an offence; or insults another nation;
  • contains a virus or any code meant to damage or misuse a computer resource;
  • promotes betting, gambling, online money games or any online game that is not permitted by law;
  • breaks any law in force in India.

5. Fair use of PollHall

  • No fake or extra accounts, bots or scripts. No buying, selling or trading votes, and no coordinated campaigns to push a result.
  • No spam, advertising or bulk copying (scraping) of PollHall.
  • No attempt to break, overload or get around PollHall’s security.

6. Your comments

  • Your comments stay yours. You give us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to show, store, translate and share them on PollHall and in its share previews.
  • Comments and your display name are public. Your votes are never shown with your name, unless you choose to show your side on a comment.

7. How we moderate

  • We may hide or remove content, close comments, or limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, the Community rules or the law.
  • We act on complaints and on lawful orders from courts and authorised government officers within the times set by law.
  • Removed content and related records are kept for 180 days, or longer if a court or authority asks, as the Information Technology Rules require.
  • Where the law requires, we report unlawful activity to law enforcement agencies and give them information on a lawful written order.

8. Questions and results

  • Questions are written in neutral words with both sides shown. Some are prepared from public trending searches and news, and checked against our rules before they open.
  • A Yes/No question is settled by the rule and source written on it. We may correct, close or remove a question that is wrong, unclear or out of date.
  • PollHall does not run polls on which party or candidate will win. During Election Commission silence periods, results on election topics are hidden and new comments are paused.

9. Points, levels and badges

  • You earn points on PollHall for taking part, for example by voting, voting on several days in a row, being right on a “What will happen?” question, and when your comments are liked or a question you suggested goes live. Points decide your level, badges and leaderboard place.
  • Points have no money value. They can only be earned on PollHall. They cannot be bought, sold, transferred, exchanged or redeemed for money, goods or anything else, and there are no prizes.
  • Nothing is ever staked or put at risk: a wrong answer never costs points.
  • We may correct or remove points earned by mistake, by fake accounts or by breaking the rules, and we may change how points work.

10. Our role and limits

  • For content posted by users, PollHall is an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000. We do not check every comment before it appears.
  • PollHall is provided “as is”. We may change, pause or stop any feature.
  • As far as the law allows, we are not liable for content posted by users, for decisions anyone makes based on results, or for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

11. Name and logo

  • PollHall™ and the PollHall logo belong to Cano Solutions Private Limited. Please do not use them without our written permission.

12. Changes to these terms

  • We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and signed-in users are told about important changes. Using PollHall after a change means you accept it.

13. Law and disputes

  • These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please first write to our Grievance Officer. Subject to your right to appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee, the courts at Nashik, Maharashtra have jurisdiction.
